Amazing news! We started beta testing Stellaris 2.0 this Monday! Here’s a small recap about how we are working to make the mod stable before the global release.
First of all, it’s important to mention that we made a lot of work before this first beta to test and stabilize every feature. It was not always the case before, and this caused us a lot of problems. Polishing the mod is now our priority, at the cost of speed. The result of this effort is noticeable, our 10 beta testers were only able to find 14 bugs, mainly missing translation key or textures (which are simply not done yet). Out of those 14 issues, only one was major for QoL. No crash were found and 10 of these issues are already resolved at the time of writing.
Our current roadmap for beta testing is simple. We will be doing 3 betas. The first one for NeoForge in singleplayer only (Fabric was planned, but due to an Arch Loom issue, we couldn’t do it. This issue is now resolved). The next one, beta 2, will be for Fabric servers. We want to make sure everything works well. We will start beta 2 once structures are done and every issue found in beta 1 are fixed! Finally, beta 3 will allow us to test the final version with all content on NeoForge servers.
Our artist team is also hard at work on mobs and bosses, a blog post will cover that soon! All I can say for now, it’s going to be fire!
We are closer than ever to a release! Stay tuned for future updates.
